Bahrain, Russia sign 4 agreements and memoranda of understanding

King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa AL Khalifa and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended in Moscow on Tuesday the signing of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries.

A host of agreements have been signed at their meeting, including on military and technical cooperation, as well as a deal to set up an intergovernmental commission for trade and scientific cooperation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the first agreement between the government of Bahrain and the government of Russia was about the establishment of a joint governmental committee for commercial, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.

This agreement was signed by Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Alexey Ulyukae, the Minister of Economic Development.

The second agreement bwas about military cooperation. It was signed by Lieutenant-General Yussef bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, the Minister of Defence Affairs, and Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Holding Company and Russia’s Gazprom was signed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Oil, and Viktor Zubkov, the company board chairman.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Holding Company and Russia’s Rosgeologia about a partnership in geophysical surveys for oil and gas was signed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Oil, and Roman Panov, the company chairman.
